Command line email
Command line email is a Windows utility that can be used to send email from the command line or DOS prompt. It is designed to be called from other programs, used as a CGI script or run from a scheduler. It supports all the email generation features you are likely to need, including unlimited file attachments and plain text or HTML formatted messages.

Command line email can be run from programs, VBA macros, the Windows Task Scheduler, or on your web server as a CGI script, to automate almost any email task. It is a much simpler alternative to Windows MAPI for you to use in your own programs.
The contents of an email can be specified entirely from the command line, using external files, or a mixture of the two. To send a simple email you just call the program, using command line arguments to specify the sender and recipients - including CC (Carbon Copy) and BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) recipients - subject and body text. The message body can be plain text only or formatted HTML - it even works with standard .EML files. You can specify an alternative text part for mail readers that can't display HTML email, making this a great tool for sending out newsletters.
The body of a message can be composed of both text on the command line and one or more external files. This allows great flexibility in generating customized messages. For example, you could use the command line to specify the salutation ("Dear Jim, ...") at the start of the email, one external file for the main part of the message and another for a standard signature or footer.
Command line email allows you to send messages with an unlimited number of attachments. This makes it suitable for a multitude of uses, such as emailing logs to the administrator on a regular basis.
The utility supports all known methods of SMTP server authentication, allowing you to send messages through any SMTP server. You can even use SSL for fully encrypted communication between your software and the mail server.
For use when called by a batch file, script or program, Command line email supports return codes (errorlevel) that can be used to test whether sending was successful. For use in interactive scripts it can optionally display a message box.
