If you have lost your Windows administrator password then you are probably locked out of Windows, so in order to recover or reset the password you must start the computer from a boot disc. You can download an image of the Recover My Password boot disc and then burn it to CD using another computer. You then use this disc to boot the PC with the lost Windows password. You must also purchase a license key which must be entered before the tool will reset your password.
After booting the computer from the CD you select the drive containing the Windows installation whose password you want to reset. You then wait while the password recovery disc operating system loads, after which the Recover My Password Wizard appears. The Wizard interface is familiar to all Windows users and resetting your password can be accomplished in most cases just by clicking the Next button.
