Site Backup CP - new Windows utility makes web site backups easy

Cockermouth, UK - October 18, 2006. Tech-Pro Limited announces the release of Site Backup CP - a Windows utility that makes it easy to back up websites directly from your computer. Backups can be run on demand, with a couple of mouse clicks, or automated using the Windows Task Scheduler. Site Backup CP is designed to work with sites that have the popular cPanelŽ control panel, but eliminates the need to log in to cPanelŽ every time you want to download a backup.

"We searched high and low for a tool to automate our web site backups" says Tech-Pro director Julian Moss, "but the only one we found had several bugs and lacked certain functionality. The alternative was to create custom scripts. So we decided to write our own easy to use backup utility instead."

Site Backup CP is aimed at owners and webmasters of small to medium-sized websites who want to back them up to their own computer, typically using a broadband ADSL line. Several backup sets can be created for each site, allowing frequently updated databases to be backed up often, and more static content to be backed up less frequently.

"Website owners using cheap hosting packages have often been horrified to find that the web host has no backups, or suddenly disappears along with the only copy of their site" says Julian Moss. "Using Site Backup CP webmasters can easily create their own 'lifebelt' backups that can be restored at any time through the cPanelŽ interface."
