Photo Recovery is an easy to use image recovery software for Windows. It can recover photos that have been lost or deleted from your computer hard drive or your digital camera memory card. It can often recover photos even after a memory card has been formatted or corrupted. And it costs nothing to try.
Photo Recovery has exactly the same functionality as the more expensive Data Recovery Wizard, except that it is limited to recovering photo images. The Deleted File Recovery option is a very easy and quick way to recover photos that have recently been deleted. Just select the drive containing the lost pictures, click Next, and Photo Recovery will scan the drive and display thumbnails of all the recoverable photos. You can preview any picture in a larger window, though unfortunately there is no option to rotate images. Finally you select the photos you wish to recover and Photo Recovery will copy them to a folder of your choosing.
If the photos you want were deleted some time ago, or the drive or memory card has been reformatted, then the Complete Recovery option will perform a full scan and let you recover anything that still looks like a photo image. There is also a Partition Recovery mode that can be used if a drive has been partitioned or a memory card is so corrupted that it cannot be accessed normally through Windows.
Photo Recovery supports hard drives and digital camera memory cards. In common with other photo recovery products it accesses memory cards as a drive. If your memory card is not visible in Windows Explorer as a drive letter (such as drive E:) then you may need to take the memory card out of the digital camera and put it into a memory card reader in order to use Photo Recovery.
