OutlookFIX is an easy to use, do-it-yourself recovery tool that any Microsoft Outlook user can use. Recovering your emails and data takes just a few minutes and is done on your own computer in complete confidence. It avoids the need to entrust personal or confidential data to a technician or data recovery service.
When you start OutlookFIX it connects to Microsoft Outlook and selects your PST (Microsoft Outlook personal data store) file. If there are more than one and it picks the wrong one you can select the PST file to repair. You then click Recover to start repairing the file and recovering your emails and data.
Recovery takes a couple of minutes. On completion OutlookFIX displays a summary showing the number of emails, appointments, contacts, tasks and notes that have been recovered.
You can preview all the data that OutlookFIX has recovered. Just click Messages to view the recovered emails, Calendar to see the recovered contacts, Contacts to see the recovered contacts and so on.
If you are satisfied with the results you can then save the recovered file. OutlookFIX provides three options.
- Normal - replaces the original file by the repaired one. The original file is renamed.
- Undelete - a new file is added to your profile containing only recovered deleted objects. Use this option when recovering emails, contacts or other data that you deleted by mistake. You can then open Microsoft Outlook and add the items you want to undelete back to their original folders.
- Save as.. - creates a new PST file containing the repaired copy of the original.
You can then open your recovered PST file in Microsoft Outlook.
OutlookFIX recovers all data in its original form, including their properties. It recovers emails complete with attachments. Password protected data can be recovered as long as it is not encrypted. OutlookFIX does not recover Outlook Express data (for this try Mail Recovery Express.)
